Leaked Videos Show New Passbook App Icon and Home Screen Layout on iPhone 6

Share this:

Earlier today, we posted about two new videos that show a working iPhone 6.  The first video is only ten seconds long, but it does confirm the rumored design and gives us our first look at the phone’s Home screen.  The second video provided us with a more detailed look about the device, with the user showing off the design and opening a few apps.  Below we have screenshots that show the Home screens of both devices and they are identical.

This the Home screen of the iPhone 6 from the first (and very short) video.

Although the picture is quite blurry, we are able to see the layout of the phone’s first page. For the Home screens, we see a similar design in both leaked videos. They show the new Health app, which was introduced at WWDC, and the updated Passbook app.  The Passbook app will not only hold tickets and coupons anymore, it will be the platform that allows you to pay for products with your phone versus taking out your wallet.  The phone is rumored to have NFC so this will allow you to use your phone for payment at brick-and-mortar stores.

Another important part to note is the background and Home screen layout.  The background shows a new mountain and star wallpaper that we haven’t seen yet.  This and the new Passbook app confirm that there is a version of iOS 8 that hasn’t been available to most developers yet.  Major developers, like Facebook and Rovio, probably have access to this version ahead of schedule.  The Home screen also shows a new layout of apps.  The iPhone 5/5s/5c can hold twenty apps (plus the bar of apps at the bottom) at one time, while the iPhone 6 can hold twenty-four apps (plus the bar at the bottom).  The phone is rumored to have a 4.7″ display so this extra space would allow Apple to increase the amount of apps on each page.

The iPhone 6 will be announced at Apple’s confirmed event on September 9th.  We expect to find out the release date for iOS 8, see a quick glimpse at the new wearable iOS device (likely called the “iWatch”) and according to Kuo, the iPad Air 2 as well.

Two New Videos Show Off Working iPhone 6

Apple’s confirmed announcement is a little over forty-eight hours away and thanks to two new videos, their most anticipated product is now known.  The iPhone 6, which is the eight-generation iPhone, has been shown off in two videos (below).  We can see the device’s design and the software is a version of iOS 8.

The first video that was leaked shows the design of the iPhone 6 and may be the first official video of the phone. To see the video, follow this link. The user shows us the screen, turns the device on and unlocks it with Touch ID, then the video cuts out.

The second video comes to us from 9to5Mac and gives us a more detailed look (in Mandarin) of the rumored features.  For the external specifications, we see a larger device with a curved display, new relocated sleep/wake button, protruding camera, circular LED flash, similar 3-piece design on the rear casing like the iPhone 5s has, iOS 8 and of course, Touch ID.  The software that it is running hasn’t been sent to most developers to download likely because it’s the final version and it holds more then just updates.  Passbook has a new logo, where the top represents credit cards. To see the Mandarin translation to English, check out 9to5Mac‘s post.

Apple’s most-ancipated product of the year may have just been leaked, or these could both be knockoffs.  Android makes a version of iOS that makes your device look like an iPhone, but some features stand out (like the Google Play Store) and remind you that it’s not an iPhone.  It could be possible that these leaked devices are running this same iOS-Android software, but the both users don’t open the App Store so we cannot know for sure.  The user does use Touch ID repeatedly to open the phone, which is difficult to be faked. With all the rumors, the mockups and the leaked tech specs we have seen about the design of the new iPhone and these videos show that design, I believe these are legitimate videos of the iPhone 6.

4.7" iPhone 6 Assembled From Leaked Parts in HD Video

In the 2010, the iPhone 4 was accidentally left in a bar in California by an Apple employee.  The world was lucky enough to get a first-hand look at Apple’s rumored next-generation phone before it was announced to us.  Unfortunately, we probably won’t ever be this lucky again so we are left with assembling our own phones with leaked parts.  Feld & Volk assembled their own iPhone 6 with parts last week and showed it off in a video.  A Russian YouTube channel called Rozetked is now the next one to assemble an iPhone 6 with leaked parts, which they shared in a very detailed video (We think? Anyone actually speak Russian?).  The video is embedded below.

In the video, the iPhone 6 is compared next to the iPhone 5s.  The phone is assembled using various parts, like the logic board that we saw recently, and the front display.  It is missing one of its key components (the battery) so although it isn’t functional, it does give us a good sense of the design of the phone.

Apple is expected to announce at least the 4.7″ iPhone 6 at their announcement next week.  It will feature Touch ID, a 13MP protruding camera, NFC technology and the A8 processor.  In addition to this phone, the release date of iOS 8 is also expected to be announced and the iWatch will be shown off.

Leaked Logic Board Confirms Details about iPhone 6

The iPhone 6, which is the eight-generation Apple smartphone, is expected to feature many improvements such as a faster cellular modem and a larger battery. The logic board for the iPhone was leaked over the weekend and it confirms many of the rumors about its internal specifications. These pictures, which come from Feld & Volk and Sonny Dickson, reveal the A8 processor, LTE modem, NFC chip and flash storage chip.

The first image, which shows the A8 processor (below), is believed to show the phone will contain 1GB of RAM like previous iPhone generations.  As pointed out by a MacRumors forum member, the chip contains Hynix RAM.  Based on the part number format for Hynix, the eighth character specifies how much RAM there is.  The eighth character on the A8 processor is an “8”, which indicates there will be 1GB of RAM.

Assembled iPhone 6 Turned On

Even though we still have a few more days until the iPhone 6 is revealed to us, Feld & Volk decided to create their own iPhone 6 from the various leaked parts they had access to.  Since they are a vendor of luxury iPhones, they know how to assemble one and that’s exactly what they did in the following video.  The phone is able to be turned on, but it isn’t able to do much beyond that point.

Although we cannot determine the authenticity of the phone in the video, it does have all the rumored specifications and likely shows us what the actual iPhone 6 will look like.  It also shows us a device with a screen resolution of 1334 x 750, which is 326 ppi.  Due to the larger screen, there will be more pixels on the iPhone 6, but it will retain the same pixels per inch (ppi) that the iPhone 5/5s have.

The real iPhone 6 will be announced at Apple’s event on September 9th alongside iOS 8 (again) and their new wearable device.  The phone will feature internal specification improvements like the Category 4 LTE modem, 2.0GHz A8 processor and NFC capabilities.

New iPhone 6 Details Shown Off in Leak

Since the iPhone 6 special event is less than two weeks away, the packaging for the rumored phone will start coming out.  Like last year, we will likely see the retail box for the phone prior to the announcement.  It has already started with a new picture from Nowhereelse.fr that claims to be of the iPhone’s quick start guide.

The quick start guide for the iPhone 6 confirms a few rumors.

The quick start guide for the iPhone 6 confirms a few rumors and other expected features.  The drawing of the iPhone shows the placement for the Lightning connector, Touch ID sensor, volume controls, ring/silent switch and the sleep/wake button.  The volume controls appear longer, which confirms the rumor that they would be elongated like we see on the iPad.  The sleep/wake button was also rumored to be moved from the top of the device to the right side for easier accessibility on the larger display and this picture says it is true. One very interesting thing to note is the date on the phone’s display. It reads “Tuesday September 9”.  This is the day the iPhone 6 is rumored to be announced.

Rear Shell of iPhone 6L Leaked and Compared to iPhone 6 Shell

Share this:

The larger version of the iPhone 6, supposedly called “iPhone 6L“, will feature a 5.5” display.  This phone has reportedly been delayed several times due to various production issues, but evidence of its existence is finally coming out.  Earlier this month we saw the logic board and battery and today we have the rear shell.

Evasi0nJailbreak.com, the site responsible for the following pictures, claimed to have picked up the rear shell from sources deep inside Apple’s supply chain.  It is noted on the report that the rear shell may not show the final design.

More Proof Leaked for 5.5" iPhone 6

There is a ton of evidence that proves the 4.7″ iPhone 6 exists, from leaked component pictures to confirmed details by inside sources. The second iPhone 6 that is supposed to have an even larger display has yet to show us much proof of its existence.  Earlier today we saw evidence of a larger battery that is presumably going to be in the 5.5″ iPhone 6, but now we have the front panel that definitively belongs to 5.5″ iPhone.  Apple Daily is responsible for these pictures and a very important detail about the phone.

New Photos Show iPhone 6 Front Panel, Logic Board, Sleep/Wake Button and More

As the iPhone 6 gets closer to being mass produced, more parts will leak that show us details about the phone.  Over the past two days, crucial internal components were posted online in pictures that confirm many preexisting rumors.  On Wednesday, Taiwan’s AppleClub blog uploaded pictures of the iPhone 6 logic board and Feld & Volk, a luxury iPhone vendor, showed off the front panel, sleep/wake button, mute switch and SIM card tray on Thursday.

Earlier this month, I posted about pictures that showed us bare logic boards for both the 4.7″ and 5.5″ iPhone 6.  It gave us a general idea of where each component would fit on the board.  Since the above picture is of a fully-assembled logic board, we can see where each of the components actually belong.  While we can clearly see that the flash storage chip was made by Toshiba, the WiFi module and A8 processor are hidden underneath electromagnetic shielding.  It would have been great to see these two components since they are rumored to be getting significant upgrades.

HD Pictures of Rear Shell for iPhone 6 Surface

Sonny Dickson is no stranger to showing us what the next-generation Apple products will look like.  For the iPhone 6, he has already given us pictures of the rumored sapphire display, rear shell and cases.  He has uploaded a couple new high-quality pictures that display the rear shell again.  Unlike the rear shell pictures he gave us in February, these come from an iPhone that is currently undergoing mass production so they likely feature the final design.

This rear shell likely shows us the final design for the iPhone 6.
