Black Friday is coming up in a few days and it’s time to decide which stores to shop at and which ones to skip.  We have compiled all of the ads we have seen for Apple and Beats by Dr. Dre products to determine which retailers will have the best deals. Apple has not announced their sales yet, but they typically have modest price decreases. In this post, we look at the iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad mini, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPod touch (5th gen.), Apple TV and iTunes gift cards. We display the top three deals with the lowest starting price.

  6. Best Buy: $170 ($100 iTunes gift card for $85)
  7. Cosco: $170 ($100 iTunes gift card multipack for $85)

For the iTunes gift cards, many retailers advertised buy one and get one for less, so we calculated the price of two $100 gift card multi-packs (or $200 in gift cards) to find the best deal.  We included the other retailers on this list since it was difficult to compare them and everyone else tied for 3rd place.

We don’t expect Apple to hold another event this year, but the next one should be in early 2015. Apple is currently selling two different generations of the full-sized iPad and three of the miniature iPad.  Here’s the iPad lineup for 2014:

Although we have been primarily focusing on the iPhone 6, the next-generation iPad Air will be here in about two months.  We are not expecting any major design changes since the it had a makeover last year.  Mockups were seen in early July that show subtle changes in design and thanks to Nowhereelse.fr, we now have pictures of the actual rear casing.

The rear shell for the iPad Air 2 reveals only one change.

We have primarily been focusing on the next-generation iPhone, but Apple also has new tablets in their Fall lineup.  Taiwan’s Economic Daily believes that this lineup will consist of a thinner iPad mini (with a new name) in addition to the expected iPad Air 2.  They also believe the rumored 12.9″ iPad Pro will be delayed until 2015.

He added Touch ID to his concept and the current iPad mini just for fun.

The Stack: The Simple Solution to a Common Problem

Our computers are really great for connecting our iDevices to iTunes, our flash drives to download content and external hard drives, but there is one limitation that our computers struggle with: USB ports.  Many computers only have a few USB ports and usually they are taken up by our products.  I have a MacBook and it only has two USB drives, but I have 3 iDevices in addition to other products that require USB ports.  A new product on Indiegogo has a solution for this problem and it is called the Stack.  This handy little device incorporates an iPhone charger (either 30-pin or Lightning) in a male/female USB port (see picture below).  The Stack borrows a concept from something we all know: Christmas lights.  Christmas lights stack into each other and are very convenient because usually people don’t have hundreds of extension cords laying around.  On the Stack, there’s a “male” end which connects to the computer, the charger cable that connects to your iDevice and the “female” end which allows another USB device to connect to it.  For more information, click the image below or check out their Facebook page.
