By showing support forĀ Apple Pay, these credit unions and banks will allow their customers to electronically store their debit cards in the Passbook application on their iPhone. They can then pay for purchases at stores with their phone instead of the physical card their institution issues. Currently the service is limited to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but when the Apple Watch launches on April 24, the iPhone 5/5s/5c will be able to use Apple Pay in conjunction with the watch.
