iPhone 6s concept imagines Apple abandoning headphone jack

Our concept creator, Angel Hernandez from Behance, created stunning pictures of an idea we had for the iPhone 6s. We decided to base the concept around the rumor that Apple may be removing the headphone jack. We also went with a mostly similar design, three display sizes and a few updated specs.

For this concept, we mostly kept the iPhone 6's design.

In December 2014, a report came out saying that Apple would be coming out with three iPhones this year with varying display sizes. In our concept, Angel created the iPhone 6s mini with a 4″ display like the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6s with a standard 4.7″ display and iPhone 6s Plus with a 5.5″ display.

The iPhone 6s mini would have the same specs as the other iPhone 6s models with just a smaller display. The mini has the curved Retina HD display, Touch ID, updated cameras, better internal specs and the relocated Lock button.

We imagined removing the headphone jack and make the bottom symmetrical.

We imagined removing the headphone jack to make the bottom symmetrical.

The reason for this concept is because we wanted to see a little bit more symmetry with the iPhone 6s’ design so we removed the headphone jack altogether based on a rumor about Apple was considering abandoning it. This made the left side and the right side of the phone’s bottom identical with stereo speakers, like what the iPad mini has, dual microphones and support for Apple’s new Lightning EarPods.

We hope to see a flat rear camera on the iPhone 6s.

The cameras on the iPhone 6s were updated slightly. As seen in the above pictures, the rear camera is now flat against the iPhone and the front camera is a little larger so it can allow more light into the sensor. Apple may or may not have a higher megapixel sensor in the camera because as always, the rumors are conflicting, but the company will definitely upgrade their camera module.

Here is the iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s mini.

The iPhone 6s will be announced in September 2015 at a special media event. Although some rumors say we should expect the iPhone 6s in the Spring at the Apple Watch event and the iPhone 7 in the Fall, this will not be happening. If you remember back to last year during the time leading up the iPhone 6 announcement, we saw about a hundred dummy units and renderings for the iPhone so we knew without a doubt what the phone will look like. We have seen none of that this year so don’t expect the iPhone 6s before the Fall.
